| the woven series These paintings are dictated by an interplay of closely valued colors and varied textures in a painterly woven format. Each brush stroke represents a thread of color used to weave the composition together. Layers of cocoa upon russet upon burgundy in one palette to deep rich greens in another lend a sense of movement to the surface. These paintings evoke memories of a cool breezy day in one of San Francisco's wooded parks to the warm fall colors in a patchwork quilt or the silvery and taupe tones of the first days of spring turning to autumn.
