| the ora series: abstract Ora means Golden Light. Joan elan Davis has a sister whose middle name is Ora for Golden Light. With this in mind and in the honor of her sisters passing recently, Joan decided that all her paintings created for a year would be a part of one series: The Ora Series. Each painting reflects the light of heaven and the spirituality of a life beyond what we tangibly experience. The colors in these recent paintings are vibrantly rich and have a connection to love. The whites symbolize peace, tranquility and heaven. The blues reflect the spirtuality of a heavenly place and what lies beyond. These works exude a sense of tranquility and energy at the same. Many of the Ora Series paintings capture the deepest reds and golds available symbolizing strong love and light in a relationship. Many of the marks in these abstract works reflect lifes energy on earth and the riches of a happy mind. Overall, the Ora Series reflects the Golden Light in all of us today and tomorrow.
