the ora series: floral Ora means Golden Light. Joan elan Davis has a sister whose middle name is Ora for Golden Light. With this in mind and in the honor of her sisters passing this year, Joan decided that all her paintings created this year would be a part of one series: The Ora Series. Each painting reflects the light of heaven and the spirituality of a life beyond what we tangibly experience. The colors in these recent paintings are vibrantly rich and have a connection to love. The blues reflect the spirtuality of heaven and what lies beyond with the floral blooms taking on hues not often seen in reality. These works exude a sense of tranquility and energy at the same time. Many of the Oral Series paintings capture the deepest reds available. Many of the red flowers symbolize a connection to love of family and friends. These bright crimson flowers celebrate the beating of the heart, lifes energy on earth and the riches of a happy mind. Placement of flowers within the compositions of the Ora Series reflect many things. An abundance of blooms reflect the results of giving to and being with others we love in a garden of togetherness on this planet and in our hearts. Each bloom represents a human soul as each painting in the Ora Series reflects the Golden Light in all of us today and tomorrow.
