Day Dreaming
by Joan elan Davis

This particular painting draws from a window series from my past yet reflects a recent experience where I caught a glimpse of an image outside a window of my home in San Francisco. This glimpse took me back to days of my childhood dreaming out the window while traveling or waiting for someone or something. Captured in the divison of a pane of glass, so many compositions come to mind including gardens, rain, trees blowing in the wind, direct sunshine. These images combine with the soft escape of a momentary day dream while capturing the colors and emotion of the memory after it is gone.
